The Kado Family Clinical Skills Center provides healthcare students and professionals with educational resources focused on the development & improvement of clinical performance.
Our specific goals include:
- Developing and executing quality experiential learning programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing healthcare education levels.
- Conducting research that contributes evidence to enhance healthcare education.
- Partnering with healthcare providers to provide assessments and training initiatives that enhance patient safety.
- Fostering strong community outreach programs that educate and inspire the individuals we serve.

The Mazurek Medical Education Commons’ main pedestrian entrance is located on Canfield near Brush Street; enter here and check in with the security guard. If you are a WSU-SOM student or faculty member, you must present your OneCard. The guard may ask guests with no WSU affiliation to sign in before proceeding. If you have questions, please contact us at 313-577-1414.
The guard will be able to release the elevator for you; take the elevator to the second floor.
When you exit the elevator on the second floor, enter the hallway to your left, and the Kado Family Clinical Skills Center will be on your right-hand side.
PLEASE NOTE: The Mazurek MEC main entrance is only open during regularly scheduled Shiffman Medical Library operating hours. Please enter through Scott Hall when the Shiffman Medical Library is closed.
